Hello friends! Welcome to October’s Good Stuff. I’ll be writing a monthly round up of the things that I’ve enjoyed that month, it’ll range from beauty products to clothes, to anything really. A little hotlist if you will.
Anyway, given it’s now early November (no idea how we got here either), here’s my favourite bits from October.
Wearing UGG boots again. I was never an UGG girlie the first time round, but I am making the most of it now. Early morning pilates? UGGs. Dog walk? UGGs. So comfy.
Jumpers with built in scarves. Handy to have one less thing to think about when getting dressed plus they look so chic. Win-win if you ask me.
Lipgloss, or oil. I know I’m like literal decades late to the party but I never wore it before - I associated lipgloss with sticky hair and gel pen smells but lord they’ve come on. Turns out I’m a lipgloss girlie now.
Small home upgrades. I just learnt that you don’t need to do everything all at once, and small upgrades make a big difference. I recently bought some LSA cocktail coupes and they bring me so much more joy than my old Ikea ones. I need to take this approach and use it more, I don’t need to make over an entire room to have it feel a little better.
Repairing and rewearing. I am a sucker for putting a pair of trousers in a corner when they need rehoming and then forgetting about them for six months. I recently dropped a bracelet off to a jeweller to be looked at, hemmed some trousers and fixed some little holes in pieces and it feels great!
Going outside. I hate the cold, I despise the rain and my SAD kicks in the minute daylight savings changes. We recently went to the Italian Dolomites and as someone who is well known for being wildly unprepared for anything outside Zone 2, I absolutely loved it. It was just so beautiful to be up in the mountains and see the season changing, wander around cows just grazing and look at what the world actually does. Really gave “they saw this and then they invented the 9-5” vibes.
Consistent skincare. With the wedding looming next year, now feels more important than ever to be consistent with what I put on my skin. I have been trying not to repurchase favourites in order to try new things I’m lucky enough to be sent, but actually, it might have been a favourite for a reason and I’m a big adult with adult money who can rebuy a serum should they so choose to.
So they were a few bits that peaked my interest in October. See you soon for another The Good Guide - I’m also thinking of putting some longer form chats on YouTube should you wish to follow me there!
